  • Starling: people who want simple free banking, travel use or a business account too

Who should skip it

These are general points to weigh up, not advice. You may want to look elsewhere if:

  • You need branches — neither has them

Full explanation

Some people use both: Chase for everyday spending that earns cashback, and another account for bills or business. Make sure you can keep £1,000 in Chase savers if cashback is the reason you’re choosing it.

The catch

Chase’s cashback disappears in months you miss the conditions; Starling’s Easy Saver bonus ends after six months.
