Snapshot dated: (Europe/London). Rates and offers change — check the latest pages and providers before you act.
This page is a periodic educational snapshot of topics we cover on The Finance Lowdown. It points you to guides and hubs — it is not personalised financial advice, and it does not present live “best” rates as timeless facts.
Quick answer
- Treat this as a dated map (snapshot 20 September 2026, last updated 27 September 2026), not a live rate table.
- Follow links into hubs and Money Basics explainers for the detail.
- Verify offers, AERs and eligibility on provider and comparison pages before you act.
- Cashback referral links above are TopCashback and Quidco only — see Disclosure.
What this page is
Use it as a calm checklist of where to read next: savings, ISAs, current-account switching, cashback and investments. Each section links to fuller guides. For how we work, see About, Editorial Policy and Disclosure.
Any rate, bonus or cashback figure you see elsewhere on the web can move quickly. Prefer dated comparison pages and provider terms over a remembered percentage.
Savings rates — where to look
We do not list AERs on this snapshot. For high-level pointers and how to compare rates carefully:
Check provider key information and dated comparison sources before you move money. FSCS deposit protection (where it applies) is separate from the rate.
ISA rates and allowance — where to look
Cash ISA rates change often. Use AER language carefully and confirm the live ISA allowance on GOV.UK.
Investments held in a Stocks & Shares ISA can fall as well as rise. Capital is at risk.
Switching bonuses — where to look
Current-account switch bonuses are time-limited and come with eligibility rules. Read the full offer terms.
Cashback deals — where to look
Cashback offers and retailer rates change frequently. Start with our explainers, then check the cashback site for live deal pages.
Referral links help support the site.
If you use these platforms, our referral links:
These are referral links. If you sign up, you may receive a bonus and The Finance Lowdown may earn a commission. Using a referral link should not change the price you pay. This is not a recommendation to join any platform.
Some links in this table are referral links. We may earn a commission if you use them, at no extra cost to you. Rankings are based on our review methodology, not commission.
Investment platforms — educational links only
This snapshot does not name “best” platforms or use referral links for them. Investing means capital at risk — the value of investments can fall as well as rise.

FAQ
Why does the roundup show a snapshot date?
Rates, bonuses and offers move quickly, so this page is a dated map rather than a live rate table. The snapshot date tells you when the signposting was put together, so check live provider pages before you act.
Why aren’t savings rates listed here?
Savings and Cash ISA rates change often, so this page points to guides instead of listing AERs. Our Savings hub has the background, and provider key information and dated comparison sources have the live detail.
Is FSCS protection linked to the interest rate I get?
No. FSCS deposit protection, where it applies, is separate from the rate. Eligible deposits are protected up to £120,000 per person, per bank or building society, from 1 December 2025. Check the FSCS website for the current limit.
Does the roundup name investment platforms?
No. This snapshot doesn’t name investment platforms or use referral links for them. Investing means capital at risk: the value of investments can fall as well as rise.
Which links in the roundup are referral links?
The TopCashback and Quidco links in the cashback section are referral links. The Finance Lowdown may earn a commission if you sign up through them, and using one shouldn’t change the price you pay.
