Quick answer

This page is the integrations matrix: which business accounts link to which accounting software, and how. “Listed” means the provider names that software on its own site; “Check provider” means we couldn’t confirm it on 3 October 2026.

Our pick for the widest confirmed coverage: Allica Bank (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent) and Monzo Business Pro or Team (Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage). Our pick for real-time Xero feeds on a no-fee account: Starling.

Who it’s for

  • Businesses committed to one accounting package
  • Accountants advising clients on bank choice
  • Owners moving software and checking their bank still connects
  • Anyone comparing feed refresh speeds

Who should skip it

These are general points to weigh up, not advice. You may want to look elsewhere if:

  • You don’t use accounting software
  • You want a guided account choice — see business accounts with accounting integrations
  • You use niche software — check with your software provider’s bank list
  • You need help setting up a feed — contact your software provider

Full explanation

Feed types

Direct feeds run on an agreement between bank and software and tend to be reliable with good transaction detail. Open Banking feeds use regulated data access; QuickBooks connects to Monzo this way. Some software also offers indirect feeds via aggregators — Sage, for example, checks Starling daily.

Check from the software side too

Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage each publish their own lists of supported banks. If a bank isn’t listed in your software, you can usually import CSV or OFX statements instead.

Choosing

If you’ve already chosen software, pick from accounts with a confirmed feed. If you haven’t, an account that includes software (Mettle, NatWest) can save a monthly subscription. More in Business accounts with accounting integrations and Accounting and bookkeeping software.

The catch

Plan restrictions: Monzo’s integrations sit on Pro and Team, not the free Lite plan.

Refresh speeds differ: real-time (Starling to Xero), every 4 to 6 hours (Revolut to Xero), every 24 hours (Tide to Xero).

Free software is time-limited or conditional: Barclays’ Sage offer is 12 months free, then 50% off; Mettle’s FreeAgent needs one transaction a month.

FAQs

Which business bank accounts connect to QuickBooks?

Starling, Monzo Business (Pro and Team) and Allica list QuickBooks. Check other providers directly.

Which accounts connect to FreeAgent?

Starling, Monzo Business (Pro and Team) and Allica list FreeAgent; Mettle and NatWest include it free with conditions.

What does “Check provider” mean in the table?

We couldn’t confirm that integration on the provider’s own website on 3 October 2026.

Is a real-time feed better?

It keeps your books current, which helps cashflow tracking. Daily feeds are fine for most small businesses.

What if my bank has no feed?

Most software lets you import statements as CSV or OFX files.
